Carson and Emily

Carson has been begging me to take a picture of him with Emily in this pose. It was quite a job to get her to look at the camera and you can just forget about a smile for the photo too! She is so easily distracted by everything around her! So here ya go Carson!

Oh, and everyone asks when they are going to be put on my blog! It is fun!

Our Last Pinewood Derby!!!!!

I don't know why that makes me so excited to have our last pinewood derby race but it does. It is more work for Steve and none for me, really. I am sure as we move on to Boy Scouts this next year that I will wish for the easy days of Cub Scouts!

I have to say that I was very excited when we found out our baby was a girl when we were pregnant last year! And not just for the cute girl clothes, but no more Cub Scouts!

These years in Cub Scouts with Carson and Logan together has been a bit challenging at times like the pinewood derby. I spend a lot of time before these competitive events talking to them about the importance of being happy for their brother regardless of their own winning or losing status! Trying to encourage them to be good sports! It did not go over well one year when Carson placed in the top three and Logan didn't! Logan's middle name should have been Competitive!

Exercising Our Faith

Yesterday the girls had Activity Days. They are both in different groups that meet at different places that start 1/2 hour apart. I have coordinated with another mom some of the driving however it is still a little crazy! We go from the bus to drop of Kristina and another girl from the ward at the home of Katie's activity leader. Then go home for a minute and take Katie to the church. And within 1/2 hour of that I go to pick-up Kristina at her activity day location and take a car-full of girls back to the church to meet up with their mother's and pick-up Katie. These are happy days that I will miss when they are all grown!

So amid this craziness I told Katie that she needed to wear exercising clothes. "Why? what are we doing?" asks Katie. I told her they were exercising. So she says to herself "I wonder what exercising we are doing, I bet we are just exercising our faith!!" I just had to laugh!

Which one is your favorite, Mom?

My kids know that I don't have one favorite color. So when they helped my sister decorate my birthday cake they had to decorate it with a rainbow of frosting colors! I absolutely loved it too! It is cool that my kids remember that about me! It was a great birthday present from them that they remember that about me. All 6 kids made me a card too! (Emily had a little help, but it is still from her!)

As we were driving home from my sister's house Logan asks me which gift was my favorite. Like my favorite color, all of the gifts were my favorite. I told him that if I put them all in a bag and could only choose one, any one of them would be awesome by itself. Then I told him that just like the colors or the gifts that each of my kids are my favorite too. I couldn't just pick one to be my favorite as each of them is my favorite! "But what if you could ONLY choose ONE kid?" asks Logan. He says "I bet it would be easy to choose your favorite if you only had one!"

Katie, it is nothing, Go to bed!

So Katie comes to me and tells me she hears knocking. Her brother's bedroom is on the other side of her bedroom wall, it's probably them. However, just yesterday she noticed that there is an attic access in her bedroom. Hmmm.....

I thought she went to bed. I was feeding the baby and heard nothing more from Katie. I put the baby to bed and went to turn off lights downstairs and Katie's light is on and her bedroom door is open. I go down to see what is going on and this is what I found, Katie with noise protection earphones on and fast asleep. This girl is too funny! I can't wait until she sees that I blogged this! (She told me she wants a blog when she grows up.)

So sorry!!!! Time for a new door mat!

To my friend, LDS Mom, who is wondering where spring is, I am so sorry! I am afraid the snow might be due to my door mat outside my front door. I guess I had better replace it soon!

Family Fun on Spring Break

I took over 300 photos during our trip to the coast.
There are plenty in that collection that are not worth looking at or just need to be deleted. I love digital photography because it just doesn't matter how many bad photos you take, it's free! However, it does pose a problem when blogging or digital scrapbooking! How do you choose just the few when there are so many that are fun!
(Steve took this cool shot!)

So here are a few more of the most fun shots from our trip.
Emily made her first trek to the beach. I had her all bundled in her snowsuit and the hat that I made for her on our way to the coast.

The kids would go down to the beach with Grandpa and Grandma and come back with their treasures!

Logan loves to pose for a shot!

Carson was warming his feet by the fire when Steve saw this great photo op!

Katie & Grandma flying in the wind!

This big tree had been blown down recently.

The kids love MREs. A stay at a military post would not be complete without them.

Sunday we found the Seaside Oregon ward and went to meetings. It was amazing to go to this small ward and we saw eople that we knew. The kids came out of class having made new friends too. I love going to a new ward and seeing that the gospel is the same wherever you go! I am also glad for my children to see this too.

Spring Break 2008

We have two weeks of Spring Break! Two weeks of no homework, no catching or meeting the bus! We can run our own schedule! Sleep-in! (haha)

For our middle of break trip we headed to the Oregon coast and met Steve's dad at Camp Rilea. Steve's mom had been visiting and caravaned along with us to meet up at Camp Rilea. We took the kids here a couple years ago over a Thanksgiving break. They loved it! This is an active military post that is situated on the north-western corner of Oregon. And just a hop over a sand dune and you are at the Pacific Ocean. The kids don't care how cold, windy or wet it may be they love to go to the beach!

The kids love seeing the Soldiers and salute each time they see one pass by. Grandpa tells them about the different equipment found around the base and this is a big hit with the boys! I mean to see real tanks and different artillery is just the best if you ask Jonny. He remembers all of their names too!

We take day trips from the camp to the surrounding area. Last visit we went to the State parks and earned Junior Ranger badges. This visit we went to the Tillamook Cheese factory and a Air Museum housing WWII aircraft. I will post photos of our beach adventures and the aircraft the kids got to sit in at the Air Museum.

More to come.....
