Moose on the Porch Block #3

Block #3
This was a nice and easy block, just the center to get matched up. This would be a fun block to do for an entire quilt. It would be quick and easy too.

Quilt Along...

Thanks to my sister-in-law, Mary, I had a little fun at my sewing machine tonight while 4 of the kids were off to the Book of Mormon Read-A-Thon that started today!

Here is my first block in the Quilt Along that has just started over at
The project is supposed to be done with a Jelly Roll Sampler but I have plenty of fabric in my stash buckets and I just wanted to get started! If I waited to go out and find the perfect Jelly Roll Sampler I might never get started!!!! My 1 inch squares are a little off...ugh! I might make another one tomorrow and pay more attention at those spots!

This was so much fun! I cut out and finished this one block in one sitting! I love it!

Here is the place to find out what a Jelly Roll Sampler is as well as the other sweet treats that Moda sells. They have some great projects on the site too. Check out the table runner on the homepage, I am going to have to make that one. Then you have to check out their Recipes sections too. Oh so much fun....just need more hours in my day!

Easter Crafts

As my reward for surviving Spring Break I decided to do a little quilting.  I found this great pattern for a table runner and found the cutest fabric to make into an Easter table runner.  Everyone thought it was so cute, even Steve!

My Afternoon Naptime Treat

Our ward has started a "Block of the Month" enrichment group. I think I can handle getting my bed done one block at a time. I am not sure that I really want to take a year to do it though. It will be fun to learn different patterns each month and then incorporate those into one complete quilt for my bed. I have made each of the kids a quilt for their bed and I have made a number of wall quilts and lap quilts too. So now it is time to have one for my room. I am due to have a new bedroom set anyway!

I have been surfing through the blogosphere and found a great quilting blog. I have placed a link in my Fun Blogs section to Crazy Mom Quilts. This gals is quite the quilter and has online tutorials and videos. She also has quilt-a-long that looks quite fun! Check it out!
