Precious moments...

Emily loves music. She will sit under the piano when I practice. When she is upset or throwing a fit we sing "If you're happy and you know it" and she will start to participate in the song even as she has tears streaming down her face.

Each night, either Steve or I will lay down with Emily and sing her songs until she is asleep. Steve and I have different sets of songs we sing. Some of our songs overlap, like Primary songs. We have always sang to her each nap and bedtime. She will snuggle into position and listen. Just last night as we lay all cuddled up and I began to sing, Emily sang along. At first I thought it was coincidence. But as I moved onto the next song she continued to sing along. I sang "I am a child of God" and she was singing along the best she could, usually finishing the last word in the phrase.

I am so glad we have taken these precious bedtime moments to sing to her and enjoy her sweet little spirit before she drifts off to sleep!

Summer fun in Washington....

We are in Washington visiting Steve's parents and here for a neice's wedding too. We have been enjoying the parks and waterfront inspite the grey and cloudy days. In fact we dodged the rain for a few minutes then hopped out of the car to play on the beach. Emily loves to play on the slides and swings and asks for them each morning when she wakes up!

Happy Fathers Day!

I am so grateful for the wonderful Husband and Father we have been blessed with in our home! My children are so lucky to have a Daddy that loves them so much and is part of their daily lives! Words cannot express the feelings of my heart for him! Love you Steve!

Sisters that read together....

The kids are reading for the library reading program. Emily LOVES books too! She will ask "tories?" I will often find her "reading" her books while the toys just lay around her. The kids will read to Emily helping her earn reading prizes and to earn theirs as well. I love to see kids with books! It makes me happy and then I can grab my book too!

Wallowa Lake - Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great weekend camping with friends and family at Wallowa Lake, Oregon. We loaded up three cars for our family which included our family, my sister, and my mother. Tami had some of her friends show up to complete our group of about 19. We had three campsites, 6 cars, and a whole lot smores supplies.

It's blank....

On Friday evening our TV went blank.......

We tried to order the digital conversion boxes with the coupons that were issued only to have our order cancelled.

We really don't watch much TV at all. We watch American Idol each year and then we like to watch America's Funniest Videos on Sunday evening. The rest of the time we watch videos. So I am not sure we will convert to digital. Since there is so little worth watching I am okay with not converting.

There seems to be plenty of what TV has to offer at their websites. And have you checked out hulu.com? You can watch full episodes of all kinds of stuff including current TV shows. I even found full episodes the old shows like Bewitched, Partridge Family, Fantasy Island, and Welcome Back Kotter! I loved these shows!

Summer has begun...

This is our first week of Summer break and no alarm clocks that we plug in, just a toddler that won't sleep in! We still haven't put the pool up, but we have gotten wet!
After our free lunch in the park we were off to another park to get wet and play. We ate ice cream with Grandma and watched a movie. And to top off the day, a stop at the library to begin the summer reading for prizes! This will be our summer, repeated many times over; lunch in the park, get wet, read, eat ice cream, read, get wet, lunch in the park...maybe a little free bowling and some camping too!

At the park...

A few, un-edited shots from our trip to Albertson's park in Boise. It is a beautiful setting. It was a beautiful evening to be out with the family and our good friends the Moxleys. Steve did some family photos for them. They have one of their 3 sons leaving on his mission to Croatia in June and their one princess, heading off to college. It was a perfect evening to capture their family as they approach this season of change.

Girls go to Table Rock

Last Saturday the girls went with our friends, the Moxleys, and climbed Table Rock in Boise.  They had so much fun and they look so cute sitting here overlooking Boise!  Thanks Carol for taking the girls and the photo too!

Cheese....

We had gone down to the park in Boise to take family photos for our good friends and Steve called Emily's name and she gave him this face.
