Pinwheel...joy!

This is my first pinwheel quilt block. I did pretty well getting all my points to line up.
This is the first block in a Pinwheel Sampler Quilt-Along over at
Photobucket
She has 6 blocks ready to complete on her site and they are so cute I decided I would brave the intimidating points of quilting. These blocks are so cute I can hardly wait to do the next one. I love the Quilt-Along idea. You can complete one block in very little time. I love things I can COMPLETE! I get stressed about incomplete projects even if they are fun stuff like quilting. So finishing these blocks and having another one to look forward to is just simply joy!

I know how to fix it...

Steve: My foot hurts..
Emily: Your foot hurts? I know how to fix it.

She got down from her chair and went over to Steve's foot and kissed it.

Steve: Thank you so much!
Emily: You're welcome!

Need more space....

I have maxed out my 1 GB of storage allowed through Blogger/Google/Picasa. I am in the process of upgrading my storage since the photos are what I blog about anyway. It may take up to 24 hours before I can post more which is a bummer! I have so many cute shots I want to blog about. I guess I can wait a day...

So, I have upgraded my storage AND the additional space was available immediately! Hooray!!! Now my last three posts will show up WITH their photos.

Welcome Spring...

Emily loves to go outside! She was so excited to see "flowers" and had to pick one! It is sweet to see the world through the eyes of a two-year old. She doesn't know that that "flower" is really a weed and I just want it gone. She sees something pretty.

Mom's little helper....

While I was making bread for the week, Emily pulled her little step-stool over to the counter and got into the action. She loves to eat the flour and the bread dough too.

Potty Training....Do I have to?

Emily comes running down the hall declaring,
"Mom, I'm really poopy" and when she reaches me, again she says "I'm really poopy bad."

Do you think it's time to start potty training? I was so happy to be done with potty training for the 5th and last time, little did I know. This is just ONE of those exciting milestones you are glad to be done with when you have a house FULL of toddlers. So this 6th time around I haven't been pushing the whole potty training thing much. Emily has had her potty chair in the bathroom for about a year. Sometimes she wants to sit and try but I never suggest it. Now she can get herself on and off of the big toilet and prefers that to the potty chair. However, she is rather intermittant in her desire to go potty in the toilet. And her success once there, is even less than intermittant.

But now that she announces her need for a diaper change...

Ugh....I think we will use up the rest of the diapers we have, from a Costco sized box(this buys me a little more time), and move to pull-ups and see what happens...

Quilt-A-Long Block #2

I had to make two of these blocks from Moose on Porch because it is so much fun!

I am going to start a Pinwheel Quilt-A-Long too which can be found over at

For me?

We received a box this afternoon and inside was this beautiful quilt! My sister-in-law Mary made this beautiful quilt for Emily. When I showed Emily and told her it was for her she came running and grabbed it and gave it a hug! "For me?"

Quilt Along...

Thanks to my sister-in-law, Mary, I had a little fun at my sewing machine tonight while 4 of the kids were off to the Book of Mormon Read-A-Thon that started today!

Here is my first block in the Quilt Along that has just started over at
The project is supposed to be done with a Jelly Roll Sampler but I have plenty of fabric in my stash buckets and I just wanted to get started! If I waited to go out and find the perfect Jelly Roll Sampler I might never get started!!!! My 1 inch squares are a little off...ugh! I might make another one tomorrow and pay more attention at those spots!

This was so much fun! I cut out and finished this one block in one sitting! I love it!

Here is the place to find out what a Jelly Roll Sampler is as well as the other sweet treats that Moda sells. They have some great projects on the site too. Check out the table runner on the homepage, I am going to have to make that one. Then you have to check out their Recipes sections too. Oh so much fun....just need more hours in my day!
